photo A few of the many reasons why I will never be a model environmentalist:

I can’t give up blow-drying and straight-ironing my hair (but I do think about what a waste of energy it is every time I do it).
I drink Diet Coke. Those chemicals can’t be good for me or the planet, and the umpteen aluminum cans I go through in a month have a significant carbon footprint.  Of course I recycle, but it’s really just downcycling, representing a pretty big waste of resources as the aluminum moves “down the food chain.”  There’s a reason why the three R’s are in this order: “reduce, reuse, recycle.”
I admire Crunchy Chickens’ dedication, but I’d rather not use a reusable menstrual blood catcher, thanks.  I use tampons (and only once!).  So shoot me.
