photo Siemens Eco Friendly Handsets
According to Unplggd, the German-made handsets, which come in two designs — “Leaf” and “Solar” (below) — are made from recyclable raw materials, such as “eco-plastic” (which might be something like ecoPlastic™) and “liquid wood” (which I’m guessing is not like this Liquid Wood.)
Both recharge with solar energy, though apparently “Solar” has built-in solar cells, making it perfect if you spend a great deal of time outside and never want to dock your phone.
I don’t have a land line, so I’m still waiting for them to make solar-powered cell phones. I give it about a decade.
I was pointed to this nifty invention by aja.
